Each step he takes seems to lead him back to the same emotional turmoil, forcing him to confront the complexities of relationships and the true nature of his existence including the need for escapism. In this intricate dance between joy and sorrow, he must navigate the delicate balance between longing for freedom and the inevitable pull of attachment. Ode To The Popo represents the second animation for RIACHBROS Entertainment.
Behind the Scenes: Bringing Ode to the Popo to Life
Creating the official stop-motion music video for Jerius Shing’s Ode to the Popo was an exercise in physical craftsmanship, international logistics, and meticulous attention to detail.
The Vision & Collaboration The project was born out of early creative sessions with artist Jerius Shing, aligning the narrative rhythm of the track with a tangible, high-concept visual style. To give the video an authentic, handcrafted weight, RIACHBROS chose physical stop-motion animation over digital CG. Director Kaelon Amor took the helm to shape the visual framework—designing dynamic shots, sequential movement, and atmospheric lighting that brought the physical sets to life frame by frame.
Obsessive Research & Customization Before a single frame was animated, Anthony Riach and Szymon Zmudzki spearheaded an exhaustive research and pre-production phase to ensure total visual fidelity:

Figurine Selection & Customization: Anthony and Szymon painstakingly researched scale, articulation, and character design to source, alter, and hand-modify custom action figures and models.

Scale Accuracy & Prop Sourcing: Every micro-prop, backdrop asset, and miniature vehicle was vetted for exact proportional accuracy so the world felt tactile, cohesive, and grounded.

International Pipeline: Once modified and prepped, the entire bespoke collection of customized figures and props was packaged and shipped internationally to Australia for physical animation capture under Kaelon's directorial supervision.
Frame-by-Frame Execution From those initial concept calls with Jerius to the final edit alongside Kaelon Amor, Ode to the Popo represents months of painstaking physical art direction. Every micro-expression, stance, and lighting shift on screen was crafted by hand—delivering a bespoke, high-impact music video built on raw creative ambition.
